Swift To Hear, Slow To Speak, Slow To Wrath

My wife Josephine is my best friend and the love of my life. Twenty-two years later, she is like a fine wine...just getting better with time!

How do we make it work? Well, truthfully, it's not us. It's God who we keep as the focal point of our home.

Whenever you married couples feel like you don't think you're going to make it, do one thing. Cling to God's word. Read it everyday! Try to put it into action everyday! You will be amazed. One verse I try to live out daily is:

"Therefore, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man does not work the righteousness of God." (James 1:19-20)

A Wise and Wonderful Man

I spent a number of years studying under a wise and wonderful man named Albert O. Geraldi. He is not only an awesome martial artist who taught me the arts, but he is an even better person who also taught me many life lessons.

I went online to buy martial arts weapons and found Tanbos...$9.50 to $130.00; Kamas...$14.99 to $375.00; and Sais...$31.99 - $65.99

But my time spent with Master Geraldi.... PRICELESS!

Man's Best Friend

It has been said that a dog is a man's best friend, but in actuality, we know that a man's best friend is his wife.

It has also been said that a dog and his or her owner oftentimes look alike.

Do you think that's true?

My Lady

Josephine, I found you!

"10An excellent wife, who can find?
For her worth is far above jewels.
11The heart of her husband trusts in her,
And he will have no lack of gain.
12She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life...
20She extends her hand to the poor,
And she stretches out her hands to the needy...
25Strength and dignity are her clothing,
And she smiles at the future.
26She opens her mouth in wisdom,
And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
27She looks well to the ways of her household,
And does not eat the bread of idleness.
28Her children rise up and bless her;
Her husband also, and he praises her, saying:
29Many daughters have done nobly,
But you excel them all.
30Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain,
But a woman who fears Jehovah, she shall be praised.
31Give her the product of her hands,
And let her works praise her in the gates."
(Proverbs 31:10-12, 20, 25-31)

An excellent wife, who can find? Me! Thank you, Jehovah!!

Turn To Jesus

When I was down and out and felt weak and thought things couldn't possibly get any worse, I turned to Jesus. He picked me up, and made me stronger than I could have ever imagined!

Hard Work Always Pays Off

It's hard to believe that when I won the kata competition at this tournament, Jonathan was shorter than my trophy. Now, at 6'5" he makes me look like the trophy!

Stretch Your Spiritual Muscles Too!

The most important thing in life is to remain spiritually grounded and to maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, but also when you stay physically fit, you are glorifying God by taking care of the body He gave you!

"Jehovah is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him." (Exodus 15:2)

Physical Training Versus Godliness

"Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come." (1 Timothy 4:7-8)

"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize." (1 Corinthians 9:24-27)
